THE CONSTANT FACTOR / CONSTANS

Having completed technical school and military service, the main protagonist of the film, Witold Patryka (Tadeusz Bradecki), begins an independent life. Thanks to a friend of his father (a mountain climber who died in the Himalayas), he gets a job at a company organising international exhibitions. It is an exceptionally attractive job, not only because of the decent earnings, but also because it also enabled distant business travels, e.g. to India. Unfortunately, very soon Witold enters into a conflict with his boss Mariusz (Witold Pyrkosz) and colleagues from his department, because he does not want to be part of the frauds that were commonplace in the firm. His strong will is evidently a result of an upbringing by the very religious mother (Zofia Mrozowska), who suffers from a terminal cancer. Disregarding the consequences and refusing to compromise, Witold falls into a deeper and deeper conflict with his surrounding.
