"Our partnership with Sofia Film Fest is one of the most inspiring in the history of our brand in Bulgaria. During these 17 years, we travelled a long road, built great traditions and managed to secure a beneficial environment for our young filmmakers. We congratulate all the participants and wish them best of luck. The Jameson Award is that one acknowledgment that stimulates our young directors to continue forward, to develop themselves and dream for reaching further heights. We will always support them, because Jameson stands behind the brave and the talented, who do not fear to change the world."
(Stoyan Georgiev, brand manager of Jameson Irish Whiskey)
Founded 17 years ago, the Jameson Award continues to be a serious motivation for the young Bulgarian directors. A joint initiative between Jameson Irish Whiskey and the European Association of Film Festivals, Jameson Short Film Award initially was introduced at 18 festivals in different parts of the world, while here it appeared for the first time in 2008. The last several years the Jameson Prize has been given only in Bulgaria and Ireland.
